Just to change topic here, and try and maintain some adherence to this sites topics, Technology, Travel and Digital Media. I thought I would provide some insight into a trip recently taken and the accommodations we had.
Mexico has always been an VERY positive and great place to travel for my wife and I. Having spent quite a bit of time up and down the West Coast in little coastal fishing towns in the province of Nayarit, such as Sayulita (map), San Francisco, and Lo de Marcos. As well as some of the larger towns like Puerta Vallerta.
This year instead of backpacking, and living in a little Villa we decided to be pampered with relaxation an do nothing but read some books on some “semi”-secluded beach…. An really, why not Mexico?
My wife did some research into some of the hotels and we decided that some time on the populated east coast may be in a travels this year.
Some of our research came up with a hotel chain called Excellence Resorts and appeared quite nice.
Here is a photo from the evening poolside looking at our building.
Excellence seemed to have everything we were looking for to enjoy a quite time:
- No kids (not that we dont love kids – we just wanted some quite time together)
- A little higher-end
- semi-secluded
- nice rooms
- room service (I mean if you are going away to do nothing, then sometimes going out for food can be alot…
We booked the resort in Riviera Cancun and paid a little extra and upgraded to the “Excellece Club”.

Which seemed to be some nice amenities especially Private beach area which included:
Some nice private little beach-side beds, steps away from the water. We took advantage of one of these every day!
Even bar service was provided right to these little huts.
Our booking: we booked Excellence Riviera Cancun, Junior Suite – Excellence Club. Through Sears Travel, Angela at Sears provided a tremendous help and great inight and positive reviews from here other customers who had visited.
We arrived at the hotel for a one week stay and were greeted by the staff with warm towels to help wipe away the tiredness that is associated with travel. True to the “Excellence Club” details our baggage was taken away and we were escorded to a private check in, located in the actual “Excellence Club”.
Once in our room were were greeted with a bouquet of flowers and fresh fruit and a view of the Ocean (within a 100meters)
View from our balcony, overlooking the Excellence club private pool (heated), bar, and private beach. Also to our delight we found a Jacuzzi tub located right on our balcony – in which we made quite use of.
After spending our first night, and ordering room service which include a great warm meal from the kitchen delivered with a smile. We headed down to the beach and found our very own beach-side bed. We were provided towel and intorduced to our barman who was happy to look after us for any drinks we could ask for.
Another benefit of the bar was that it was stocked full of brand name booze. Wanted a Tanqueray gin Martini – yours for the taking, scotch, vodoka (including Grey Goose – in the Excellence bar) were all provided, even a nice collection of brand named booze was provided in your room.
Here is an amazing video completed by a Zack Arias. The video represents the photographers trials and tribulation with his art form over the course of a year. What photgraphy means to him, and what it can mean to you.
He provides great insight into photography and it cab be enjoyed by amatures and professionals alike.
Great movie/docu/Art Zack!

While we are waiting for Tversity to get Hulu on board, here is a link that can help you watch Hula outside the U.S.
Check this site out…
A friend of mine just passed this along to me who created a site for product pricing/deal finding. What Gazaro calls a “personal sales flyer”. And it really is just that.
Check this:

Immediately I logged onto the site, and provided some basic information email address, user name – basic stuff.
from there the next simple question was provide a product name or part number.
I have been looking for pricing on one of Canon’s L series wide angles lenses part number (EF 14mm f/2.8L USM). All I had to do was paste this in the input box and clicked next.
Here is the info it immediately provided me.
From the pricing graph below I was able to find out that During the Christmas shopping months this product fell to as low at $1450.oo.
As well I can have it alert me to pricing fluctuations.
Try it out.. here is the official link:
